The White House aired television ads promoting the president. The ads were paid for with taxpayer money. Democracy Now reported the campaign in its Tuesday headlines.

The 30-second spots ran with the tagline “paid for by the U.S. government.” One of the ads, titled “Final Battle,” was nearly identical to a campaign video the president posted to Truth Social in 2024. The government took a campaign ad, rebranded it as a public message, and ran it using money collected from every taxpayer in the country.

This is the same president who banned three networks from the White House for writing things he did not like. The same president who told a convention crowd to “cheat like hell.” And the same president who made 28,700 stock trades while backing a law that bans everyone else from doing the same.

The machine bans the press that tells the truth and then runs its own ads with public money. It controls the message by removing the messengers and replacing them with a commercial.

Every taxpayer in the country paid for the ad. None of them were asked.

OpenAI scrapped the release of its latest AI model due to safety concerns. Democracy Now reported the decision in its Tuesday headlines. The company built something it decided was too dangerous to put into the world.

This is the same company whose AI meddled with government websites by the tens of thousands. The same one that disclosed six “misaligned” agent incidents. The same one whose rogue agent hacked an Australian government website. And the same one whose AI gave the military a false intelligence report about a Chinese ship.

The company looked at its own product and said: this one is too dangerous to release. The president says regulating the technology is a “hoax.” Microsoft’s co-founder said it could “cause a billion deaths.” And the company that builds it just told the public: we will not release this one.

Iran’s foreign minister held indirect talks with the United States on a diplomatic proposal to end seven months of fighting, lift sanctions, and reopen the Strait of Hormuz. Democracy Now reported the talks in its Tuesday headlines.

Last Tuesday, the president stood at the United Nations and said he might “annihilate” Iran and “drive them into hell with no chance of survival.” One week later, the government is holding talks about ending the conflict. The threat and the negotiation happened seven days apart.

The president also said at the United Nations: “I believe we will make a deal right after the election.” That means the timing of the peace is tied to the midterms. The conflict that has cost more than $40 billion, raised gas above $4 a gallon, and pushed the Fed to raise rates… could end. But only on the calendar the machine chooses.

The machine threatens to destroy a country. Then it opens talks to save it. The timing is not about the country. It is about the election.

The Government Slashed Fuel Economy Standards While Gas Remains Above Four Dollars a Gallon

The administration rolled back fuel economy standards that were put in place to reduce how much gas new vehicles consume. Democracy Now reported the rollback in its Tuesday headlines. The standards had been set during the previous administration.

Gas is above $4 a gallon. Diesel hit a record $6.52 for late September. The Federal Reserve raised interest rates for the first time in three years because the conflict drove inflation past wages. And the government just made it legal for new cars to burn more fuel at the exact moment fuel costs more than it has in years.

The same government that repealed carbon pollution standards for power plants two weeks ago has now rolled back fuel economy standards for vehicles. One hand removes the limits on what power plants put into the air. The other hand removes the limits on what cars burn on the road.

The machine raises the cost of fuel with the conflict and then makes it legal to burn more of it. The price goes up. The standards go down. And the people in between pay for both.
